2025 TLab Scholarship Application: Denver

This application is for a Denver Branch TLab Scholarship. If you are not located in or around Denver, please click here to find a scholarship in your area, or apply for a national scholarship.

Every year, the branches of the English-Speaking Union (ESU) provide nearly 50 scholarships for classroom teachers in their communities. ESU scholarships are for current classroom teachers attending our multi-week courses at Shakespeare's Globe, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Oxford.

1. Find your local ESU scholarships.

2. Read your local scholarship's application procedure. Pay attention to local deadlines! Most ESU branches will ask you to use the application form on this page. Some will interview candidates or have a unique procedure.

3. Apply!

Refund policy: Scholars will adhere to the program refund and cancellation policies.  ESU scholarship recipients will sign a contract wherein they are required to repay the entire scholarship amount (concurrent with the program's refund and cancellation policies) if for any reason they must cancel their course of study or are unable to complete the course.

If you have any questions, please contact Cami Van Anne at denver at esuus.org or Alice Uhl at auhl@esuus.org

How did you learn about this scholarship?

The ESU and its branches offer both full and partial scholarships. What additional sources of funding will you pursue should you receive a partial scholarship? (Options may include self-funding, PTA, school PD budget, teacher-specific crowd funding, general crowd-funding, grants, etc.)

Please write a one page personal statement indicating your goals in attending a TLab program. Detail what you hope to gain from the course and how it will affect your teaching. Your local ESU Branch will contact you to schedule an interview, if applicable.

Once accepted and awarded an ESU TLab Scholarship, the TLab applicant must then apply and be accepted by the TLab program of their choice (Globe, Oxford, SUISS/Edinburgh). Most scholarship recipients are accepted into their first choice program. However, these programs have limited availability. The Globe is extremely competitive.

Teachers who do not receive a scholarship may still apply to the program of their choice. However, they will need to provide the funds in full for the selected program.

Final acceptance is determined and notified by the UK institution via email in Spring 2025, not the ESU.

If you are awarded an ESU TLab Scholarship, you will then need to complete the UK institution's application process and provide all their required supporting documents for consideration by their specific deadlines (please see program pages for deadline dates).

If you are not awarded an ESU TLab Scholarship, we encourage to seek out alternate funding sources. Please consult our Fundraising Guide for further advice and information.

If you have any questions, please contact Alice Uhl at auhl@esuus.org or call 212-818-1200 ext. 212.
