Magna Carta 800

2015 is the 800th anniversary year of THE MAGNA CARTA (June 15, 1215). All this year The English Speaking Union  and Royal Holloway University of London have been sponsoring an international essay contest for students, "My Magna Carta", whose winners will be announced soon!

Our Branch program for MAGNA CARTA 800TH is on Tuesday, Dec 1, 6:30 p.m. at 6330 St. Charles Ave., and will feature VERNON PALMER, Director of European Legal Studies, Tulane University, who will refresh our memories about this historic and immensely influential document for all democratic governments worldwide. Come enjoy his insights, the fellowship and ….the champagne!

Registration fee is  $30 for members, $35 for non-members.
