The English-Speaking Union exists to foster global understanding through educational programs that focus on teacher enrichment and support, immigrant support, scholarships and youth speaking programs. Each year, national programs serve more than 60,000 teachers, students, volunteers and immigrants around the US. Local "branches" meet to enjoy local programming and support ESU's objectives.

The Austin Branch of ESU meets 6 times, October through May, for hospitality and programs about history, culture, and current events around the English-speaking world.

Annual membership is encouraged in support of the ESU mission and its programs.
Membership: $150 for individuals/$300 for couples includes national dues and all Austin events below.

Happy hour gatherings take place at the historic Neill-Cochran House Museum, 6:00-8:00 pm
Programs are free to ESU members; guests are welcome: adults $30 per person, students $10
(contributions to catering and venue rental)

Welcome to the Austin Branch of The English-Speaking Union. We are a non-profit, non-political membership organization whose mission is to promote scholarship and the advancement of knowledge through the effective use of English in an expanding global community. We sponsor and organize educational and cultural programs for students and teachers as well as provide lectures, social events, and travel opportunities for our members. The Austin Branch is one of 68 located throughout the United States and is part of a global network of ESUs promoting educational opportunities in over 50 countries around the world.
