TLab Scholarship Costs

Fees for 2-3 week ESU TLab Summer Programs in the UK at Oxford, Edinburgh & Shakespeare's Globe in London in that include tuition, private room, and some meals are estimated in 2025 to be between $4000-$6500 depending on the length and location of the program:

Branches may choose to offer:

- a full scholarship: tuition, room and board

- a partial scholarship: a set monetary amount to be put toward the program fee

- an additional stipend to be used towards airfare or additional expenses

Please be aware that ESU National will only bill for the UK program fees, i.e. tuition and housing. Any additional monies, such as airfare and stipends, will be dispersed directly from the branch.

If your branch has any specific TLab Scholarship stipulations, application or eligibility requirements of your scholars and you would like those details to appear on your website, please check the box below and email the details to Alice Uhl at auhl@esuus.org. Please Note: The ESU TLab Scholarship has a 2-Tier application process. Once the teacher has applied and been awarded an ESU TLab Scholarship from your Branch, you must notify ESU National Headquarters so they can provide the teacher with the link to the UK program 2025 application form & requirements. Once completed, the UK application must be emailed to ESU National Headquarters for review and submission to the UK institution.The applicant will be notified directly via email of their acceptance by the UK institution in Spring 2025 (the ESU will be cced).

Application & Exchange Rate Fees
Although Branches are billed in US dollars, the ESU is billed in British Pounds by the UK institutions. A 3.5% application fee is applied to all scholarships to offset credit card and wire processing fees as well as fluctuations in the exchange rate. Program invoices will be emailed to the Branch Treasurer, Branch TLab Chair/Coordinator and Branch President. Invoices are payable in US dollars to The English-Speaking Union of the United States and are due within 14 days. Branches should communicate directly with scholars regarding additional monies such as airfare and stipends.
