Membership

Welcome to the ESU...

The English-Speaking Union of the United States is a membership organization whose mission is carried out locally by the efforts of Branch members.  As an ESU member, you are contributing both financially and personally to programs that enrich the lives of students and educators through a diverse range of local and national programs.  Additionally, members expand their own social network by being invited to cultural and social events, speakers and book author events, regional and national events as well as invitations to international travel opportunities.

Join the ESU on our new website here.

When you join the Nation's Capital Branch of the English-Speaking Union, you instantly become part of a worldwide network of people with similar interests who share a common language and a love for its values and traditions. And you have the assurance that virtually anywhere you choose to travel around the globe, there will be English-speakers nearby who will welcome you as a friend and be eager to help and guide you in your travels and introduce you into their own communities.

The Nation's Capital Branch is among the most active and far-reaching in its interests of any ESU branch and you will be welcome into all of our programs, including monthly dinner lectures, social gatherings, embassy functions, theatre and collaborative events with other like-minded organizations. As a Single or Dual member, you are entitled to bring guests to all ESU undertakings, including our annual British Ambassador's reception at the Embassy.

There is no better introduction into the social, cultural and intellectual world of the Nation's Capital than membership in its ESU branch.
