The Boston Branch of The English-Speaking Union is a membership association with some 100 active member households and over 150 "friends," who support our educational programs – the annual Shakespeare Competition for High School Students, the new Middle School Public Speaking Competition, and workshops for teachers, as well as a variety of programs run by the National ESU.
Our members come from the city of Boston, and from towns in the greater metropolitan area. Some have a long association with the ESU, having participated in one of our educational programs; others are drawn to our many activities for members, which offer a chance to socialize, broaden intellectual and cultural horizons, and travel.
